SOUTHERN CORNBREAD STUFFING
Inspired By: Recipe by Paula Deen feature don ABC Action News
Ingredients:
Cornbread, crumbled
7 slices oven dried white bread
1 sleeve saltine crackers
2 cups celery, chopped
1 lg onion, chopped
8 Tbsp butter
7 cups chicken stock
1 tsp PureSpice ® salt
PureSpice ® Ground black pepper
1 tsp PureSpice ® sage
1 Tbsp PureSpice ® Poultry Seasoning
5 eggs, beaten
1.Preheat over to 350 degrees.
2.In a large bowl, combine crumbled cornbread, dried white bread slices and saltines. Mix together and seta side.
3.In a large skillet, sauté the celery and onion in butter until transparent¦usually 5-10 minutes. Pour sautéed mix over cornbread mix. Add the stock, mix well and taste. Add salt, pepper, sage, and Poultry Seasoning and mix well again.
4.Add beaten eggs and mix well. Pour mixture into a greased pan and bake until dressing is done, about 45 minutes. Serve with turkey and gravy.
